These fish are a small, north American panfish for the most part. They are usually found to be from about a pound to over 2 pounds in weight. What I am saying is that these guys aren’t very big, so the bait you need to use when fishing for them shouldn’t be very big. So try to stick with jig heads that are at most one eighth ounce, and even going all the way down to one thirty second ounce jig heads.

Now, on to bait selection. Dead bait may not work so well, so you should probably stick to either live bait or lures. Both are good, and if you are using live bait, get minnows that are between one and two inches long.
