Making selling houses easier

January 13th, 2010

Having recently thinking about selling my house and as with all things like this have been attempting to find out what the best way to make the house look good before we either sell our house or remain in it for a bit longer. I began by looking at various rooms in the house and considering what I could do to improve them and remove any issues I might feel about them.

Central to my house is the kitchen so I started their considering the kitchen layout, we have a fitted kitchen which works quite well with a useful work space (luckily I talked to a local kitchen business about kitchen planning ahead of purchasing). The floor had problems with just lino layed which had got a bit chewed up as I had shoved washing machines and fridges about in it. I got some tiling advice from a near by company to get the floor tiles that would work in with the kitchen units ensuring that the room didn’t appear to dark (just a few of the little things you need to think about when you want to sell your house, first impressions need to be just right within the short time people have to view your house).

I then needed to ensure the bathroom looked good, my bathroom layout was a little small because of some fitted cupboards which when taken out gave me masses more space (which if you are going on first impressions could help sell my house). Once again I went down to the area tiler for some good tiling advice and went for big light tiles which seemed to open the space in the bathroom, just one of the many things to be considering when purchasing bathroom tiles.

I then went through the house and decorated with a neutral light colour which drew the rooms out and gave the whole house a fresh look. I then took out as much clutter as I could and boxed everything that wasn’t essential away in the garage. The final thing, a house that I wanted to stay in, but after just a few viewings brought to me from an online property site I have got some serious interest, so fingers crossed ill be able to sell my house soon.
